The silicone rubber was weight measured, fusing preheated, then placed on heated mold cavities in form of sheet to be compression molded.
Compression molded parts eliminated the marks of injection gate and ejector pin that were the nature of conventional injection molding.
Hardness and fitting test. Compression molded samples of hardness Shore A 40/60/80 were tested by customer, and Shore A 60 was preferred.
Compression molded parts had no shrink marks as well. Insert molding and overmolding were also available for this process.
